Making Outposts Appear - Guild Wars Forums

How do I make towns or outposts appear on my map? I've tried just visiting them, and that sometimes doesn't work.

If it is not its own instanced area then it will not appear on your map.

Visitting an outpost should always make it appear on the map.
Perhaps you are mistaken and the area you find is not actually an outpost?

Also, keep in mind you can't see outposts when you are zoomed out on the map. You have to zoom in to be able to see them.
